Beijing-set sex comedy Red Light Revolution: 'naive and inept'. Photograph: PR

This naive sex comedy, directed by an Australian resident in China, centres on a dimwitted cab driver, Shunzi, losing his job and wife on the same day and attempting to recover his fortunes by setting up a shop selling sex toys in a Beijing where such things are in great demand. Just as the local neighbourhood watch inspector is putting him out of business, Shunzi discovers an aphrodisiac that produces an erection in two seconds and he's on his way to success. Not surprisingly, Voutas's inept movie has yet to find a Chinese distributor. Surprisingly, it has found one here.
