The Muppets Q&A: send us your questions

Henry Barnes: With a new Oscar-nominated film to promote, Kermit and Miss Piggy are crossing the pond and working the UK press circuit. What should we ask them?

Play the music, light the lights, tune up the banjo and reinforce the drumkit: the Muppets are back with a big-screen musical.

The new movie sees small-town dreamer and lifelong Muppets fan Walter make a pilgrimage to the Muppet theatre in LA with his brother, Gary (Jason Segel). The pair find the theatre abandoned and the Muppets disbanded. Kermit is holed up in his Beverly Hills mansion; Miss Piggy has wriggled her way into the editor's chair at Paris Vogue; poor old Fozzie is working a dive bar as part of a Muppets tribute act. Worst of all, evil oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) is looking to drill through the theatre and strike it rich right in the heart of Jim Henson's empire. It's up to Walter and Gary to reunite the gang for one more show – a benefit gig to save the theatre.

Meanwhile, in the real world, The Muppets have similarly pressing business to attend to, especially now they're Oscar nominated. A new movie means publicity commitments. As with any other blockbuster title, The Muppets requires its stars to schlep across the pond to introduce their movie to the UK press. We've got interview time with Kermit and Miss Piggy on Friday (we're not sure where Gonzo, Animal, Fozzie and the rest of the gang are – presumably waka waka working other territories?). So what should we ask them? For this interview, you're our puppet masters.

Here's a few to get you started: did it take the frog long to rediscover his stage legs? Is it tough for (whisper it) older actresses like Piggy to find interesting parts? And – after the failed campaign to have Kermit and co host this year's Oscars ceremony – will the movie industry ever be truly felt-blind? We're sure you can do better. Post your questions for Hollywood's golden couple below …
